BIO

Professor Paul Wiegert serves in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Western University. His research program integrates celestial mechanics, asteroids, and planetary dynamics to study the stability and motion of small bodies in the solar system. He focuses on the orbital evolution of near-Earth objects and the detection of co-orbital companions to planets. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Toronto, and he is a member of the Institute for Earth and Space Exploration. He teaches courses in planetary physics and supervises graduate students in the field of dynamical astronomy, and he is currently available for masters and doctoral mentorship.
