Professor Homer Yang, Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, is known for research in perioperative medicine, cardiovascular disease, perioperative myocardial infarctions, postoperative ECG monitoring, and postoperative cardiac complications. His work examines how better monitoring, perioperative risk reduction, and earlier discharge pathways can reduce complications after surgery. His research mission is to make perioperative care safer through practical, clinically grounded innovation. Previously Chair of Anesthesiology at the University of Ottawa, he also serves Western University through major academic leadership and is recognized nationally for teaching, research, and professional contribution in anesthesia.
