Professor Mark R. Darling holds joint appointments in Dentistry and Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Western University. His research centers on oral pathology, specifically investigating the molecular markers of oral squamous cell carcinoma and salivary gland tumors. He explores diagnostic proteomics and the progression of oral premalignant lesions. His mission is to improve early detection of oral cancer through tissue analysis and histopathology. Dr. Darling provides extensive supervision for graduate students and residents. He is a recognized expert in oral and maxillofacial pathology and contributes to provincial diagnostic services and academic dental research.
