Assistant Professor Caitlin Symonette is a researcher in the Department of Surgery at Western University. Her primary investigative work centers on plastic surgery, wound healing, and hand surgery with a focus on improving functional and aesthetic outcomes for patients with tissue loss or trauma. She seeks to develop innovative reconstructive techniques that enhance nerve regeneration and skin quality. Holding a Medical Degree and specialized training, she is a member of the Bone and Joint Institute. She teaches surgical residents and supervises graduate researchers exploring the molecular and clinical aspects of tissue repair, and she is currently available for academic mentorship.
