Dr. Marc Moreno Maza is a Professor in the Computer Science Department and the Applied Mathematics Department at Western University, and a Principal Scientist in the Ontario Research Centre for Computer Algebra (ORCCA). He leads research in computer algebra, non-linear system solving, parallel processing, high performance computing, and algebraic geometry. His work combines symbolic computation and advanced software methods to solve mathematically demanding problems efficiently at scale. His research mission is to build faster and more reliable computational tools for exact mathematics and scientific computing.
He has developed mathematical software packages and libraries for three different computer algebra systems, namely AXIOM, ALDOR and Maple. These include low-level routines for fast polynomial arithmetic written in C. Most of these packages and libraries implement algorithms that he designed himself or with his students. Currently, his main software projects are the RegularChains library, Basic Polynomial Algebra Subprograms (BPAS), CUda MODular Polynomial (CUMODP) and The Meta_Fork Framework.
