BIO
Associate Professor James A. Wisner, Department of Chemistry, Western University, studies supramolecular recognition, self-assembly, templation, higher order architectures, and non-covalent interactions. His research examines how molecules spontaneously organize into complex and stable systems with distinctive chemical properties, drawing on ideas that connect organic chemistry and molecular design. His mission is to create and understand controllable supramolecular systems that turn weak interactions into useful structure and function. He teaches and supervises in organic and supramolecular chemistry, previously held an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Oxford, and earned his highest degree in chemistry from the University of Windsor.
