Professor Donglin Bai serves in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Western University. His research integrates gap junctions, cell communication, and electrophysiology to examine the molecular basis of inherited diseases. He focuses on how mutations in connexin proteins lead to heart disorders, hearing loss, and skin pathologies. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, he is a core member of the Western Institute for Neuroscience. He teaches courses in cellular physiology and supervises graduate students exploring the biophysical properties of ion channels, and he is currently available for doctoral student mentorship and research inquiries.
