Dr. Melanie N. Katsivo is an adjunct Research Professor at the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at Western University. She holds a PhD in Educational Communication and Technology (Health Promotion), an MA in Sociology (Health), and a BA in Education (Nutrition and Human Ecology). She actively participates in the implementation of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) strategies at Western University, and collaborating to drive transformative change. She also serves as Associate Director of Partnerships and Programs for the Africa Institute, as well as the International Partnerships Lead, of Western's Frugal Biomedical Innovations Program. Dr. Katsivo directs a Global Skills Opportunities project promoting Health Equity education for the Canadian and African healthcare workforce, and actively researches climate change, sustainable livelihoods, and frugal biomedical innovations.
