BIO
I am a Full Professor in the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University and currently serve as Vice-Provost (Academic Programs). I received my PhD in Musicology from Princeton University (2001), following masters degrees at Princeton University and the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music and Politics and Bachelor of Music (Piano) at Queen’s University. My research examines musical culture in early modern Europe, with particular emphasis on sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Italy, including music printing and circulation, patronage networks, and the social, religious, and geo-political conditions that shaped musical production and reception.
