A Biochemist by training for my PhD at INRA (France) and a post-doc at MIT, I turned to Microbiology and bacterial pathogenesis during my post-doc in Canada and never turned back. My lab studies the mechanisms of synthesis of bacterial surface carbohydrates (glycolipids and glycoproteins) and their role in virulence in gastro-intestinal pathogens Campylobacter jejuni and Helicobacter pylori.
