Dr. Kevin Armstrong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. A consultant anaesthesiologist for over 25 years, he has built his clinical practice within our high-volume, academic tertiary care centre. Dr. Armstrong’s primary areas of practice and study are Regional Anaesthesia and Obstetrical Anaesthesia, where he is a core member of teams managing complex cases and providing sub-specialty care.

 

A dedicated educator, Dr. Armstrong is involved in the training of medical students, anesthesia residents and clinical fellows. His commitment to teaching has been recognized multiple times by trainees, and he is a two-time recipient of the "Resident Teacher of the Year" award. He extends his commitment for faculty development through his leadership of the department's formal mentorship program.

 

Beyond his clinical and educational roles, Dr. Armstrong has held significant administrative positions, including former Citywide Director for the Regional Anaesthesia Division and Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. His academic work includes a number of peer-reviewed publications in his specialty fields. He most recently joined the department's Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Decolonization (EDID) Committee, reflecting his commitment to fostering an inclusive professional environment.
