Dr. Wong is a practicing academic family physician, Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Family Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.  He is also the President-Elect of the Ontario College of Family Physicians and currently serves as Clinical Director for Practice Ready Ontario, a practice ready assessment program for internationally trained family physicians administered by Touchstone Institute.

Dr. Wong has an academic interest in medical education and assessment.  He has held educational leadership positions including Postgraduate Director of the Western University's family medicine residency program (2008-2014), Director, Certification and Examinations at The College of Family Physicians of Canada (2015-2017), Faculty Lead for Assessment in the MD program at Western University (2019-2021), and Faculty Development Director for the Department of Family Medicine at Western University (2018-2026).
