Helene’s research and teaching focuses on gender equity and Canadian rural farm families. As a qualitative sociologist she has studied Canadian women inventors, farm women and men’s attachments to the land, farm children and their rural use of space and place, the mommy track, and childfree women. Apart from academic administration, Helene is a recipient of an Award of Excellence in Teaching and The Status of Women Award of Distinction.
