Associate Professor and Undergraduate Chair Kenneth William Kirkwood in Western University’s School of Health Studies works in applied health ethics, food ethics, human enhancement, drug use and addiction, and related questions in health policy and practice. His scholarship examines how ethical analysis can guide difficult decisions in health, medicine, and everyday life. His research mission is to bring clear, practical ethical reasoning to complex health issues that affect patients, professionals, and communities. Kirkwood supervises graduate students in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and also serves as a medical consultant in ethics in postgraduate surgical education.
