BIO

Associate Professor Rafael Montano, Department of Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Western University, researches the Spanish American Novel and Carlos Fuentes, with broader teaching and research engagement in Hispanic cultures and civilizations on both sides of the Atlantic. His research mission is to connect literary analysis to larger questions of Hispanic cultural production, social movements, and transatlantic intellectual history. Montano also teaches courses that develop Spanish-language research skills through work in visual, performing, and literary arts at Western University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy from McGill University.
