Associate Professor Neil Gelman holds joint appointments in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and Medical Biophysics at Western University. His research focuses on magnetic resonance imaging and the study of brain development and aging. He investigates quantitative MRI biomarkers to assess tissue integrity and metabolic function in neonatal and geriatric populations. His mission is to advance the understanding of neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration through precise imaging techniques. Dr. Gelman provides research supervision for graduate students and collaborates on interdisciplinary projects. He is dedicated to improving diagnostic capabilities for neurological conditions through the study of biophysical imaging data.
