Assistant Professor Ana García-Allén, Department of Languages and Cultures, Western University, is an innovative educator and researcher in the field of Spanish language teaching and learning. Passionate about inclusive and transformative learning experiences, she integrates cutting-edge methodologies and technology to enhance student engagement and success. García-Allén holds a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from the University of Salamanca, an MA in Information and Knowledge Society (e-Learning specialization) from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, and a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Western University.
Her research aims to improve Spanish-language teaching through applied linguistics, educational technology, and partnership-based pedagogy that links language learning to real-world engagement. She also brings expertise in graduate teaching assistant development and Spanish for specific purposes, and her Teaching Excellence Award highlights the impact of her research-informed teaching at Western University.
