BIO

Professor David Walton is a Professor in the School of Physical Therapy at Western University, corss-appointed to the Department of Psychiatry with the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. His research specializes in chronic pain, musculoskeletal health, and rehabilitation science, with a focus on predicting the transition from acute to persistent pain following trauma, clinical measurement, and the intersections between physical, mental, and social wellness. He is best described as a transdisciplinary researcher with expertise across biological, psychological, and social sciences. He is co-Director of the CANSpine precision spinal pain rehabilitation research group, co-Lead of the kNOw-PAIN interdisciplinary research initiative, an Associate Scientist with the Lawson Health Research Institute, and Scientist with Western's Bone and Joint institute. He supervises graduate students in the Health and Rehabilitation Science program and is available for both Masters and Doctoral-level students.
