Dr. Chao Zhang received her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of New Brunswick in 1990. She is a P. Eng., registered in the Province of Ontario, Canada. She works in numerical models, thermal performance of heat exchangers, combustion process, NOx formation, and flue gas recirculation furnace research. Her research includes simulation and control methods for thermal-fluid systems, with a strong emphasis on industrial furnaces, emissions reduction, and energy-related performance analysis. She is a Member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME),  Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers (CSME) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Society of Canada.
