Professor Ruth Lanius is a prominent researcher in the Department of Psychiatry at Western University. Her primary investigative work centers on post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociation, and neuroimaging with a focus on the brain mechanisms underlying trauma-related disorders. She seeks to develop novel neurofeedback and psychotherapeutic treatments for survivors of severe trauma. Holding a Medical Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy from Western University, she is a member of the Western Institute for Neuroscience and the Director of the PTSD Research Unit. She supervises graduate researchers in the field of clinical neuroscience and is currently available for doctoral student mentorship.
