BIO
Professor Gediminas Cepinskas, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology with cross-appointment in Medical Biophysics, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on systemic inflammation, sepsis, vascular injury, endothelial dysfunction, and gaseous transmitters. His work examines how organ-specific vascular endothelial cells are activated and damaged during inflammation and studies therapeutic approaches, including carbon monoxide signalling, to suppress inflammatory injury. His research mission is to uncover mechanisms of microvascular dysfunction that can improve treatment of critical illness. He also contributes to interdisciplinary vascular and inflammation research across Western University.
