BIO

Professor Gregory Dekaban is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Western University. His scholarly work emphasizes neuro-inflammation, anti-inflammatory therapies for neurotruama, specifically the therapeutic use of anti-inflammatory agents to prevent secondary neural damage. He investigates the role of the innate immune system in CNS trauma and chronic neurodegeneration.  In addition he has a longstanding interest in virology, viral vaccine and anti-viral developmennt.   Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from Western University, he is a Robarts Scientist and a member of the Western Institute for Neuroscience. He supervises graduate researchers in molecular immunology.
