Dianne Bryant is a Full Professor in the School of Physical Therapy at Western University. She is a clinical epidemiologist and trialist whose research program focuses on methodological designs to strengthen the rigor of clinical research in skills-based clinical areas like surgery and rehabilitation. These include developing novel approaches to recruitment including a modified Zelen design, expertise-based randomization, validation of new pre- and post-intervention recruitment strategies, and development of statistical and sample size considerations to recognize the dependency of including more than one limb from one individual into a clinical trial. Dr. Bryant is co-leading the largest international CIHR/NIH-funded clinical trial in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction research. Dr. Bryant is cross appointed to the Department of Surgery in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University and is a part-time Professor at McMaster University in Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact. She supervises graduate students in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences or Kinesiology at Western University or in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University.
