Associate Professor Alexandra J. E. (Alix) Carter, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, is Research Director in Emergency Medicine. Her research focuses on EMS/paramedicine, health services research, health system design/integration, interdisciplinary/interprofessional collaboration, and education. She studies how prehospital and emergency systems can be designed more effectively to improve patient care and coordination across services. Her research mission is to build better emergency health systems through rigorous applied research. She also provides leadership in emergency medicine research and training at Western University.
