Professor Joseph Mymryk, Departments of Microbiology and Immunology, Oncology, and Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on DNA tumor viruses, human adenovirus, human papillomavirus, Epstein-Barr virus, and associated human cancers. His lab studies how oncogenic viruses alter host-cell pathways and collaborates closely with clinicians treating virally associated cancers. His research mission is to uncover viral mechanisms that drive malignancy and use that knowledge to improve cancer biology and translational discovery. He also serves as Division Head of Experimental Oncology, adding strategic leadership to his research profile.
