Dr. Akira Sugimoto is a Gynecologic Oncologist.  He is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Western University.

His clinical practice consists of caring for patients with gynecologic cancers who require gynecologic cancer surgery and chemotherapy.  He also treats pre-cancerous conditions of the lower genital tract.

He has a special interest in medical education, laparoscopic cancer surgery, robotic surgery in gynecology and approaches to regionalized cancer care delivery for women with ovarian cancer, and also spiritual health and counseling for patients with gynecologic concerns.
