Associate Professor Andrea Waters-Rist is a researcher in the Department of Anthropology at Western University. Her primary investigative work centers on bioarchaeology, paleopathology, and human osteology to assess the health and nutrition of past populations. She seeks to understand how early-life stressors and breastfeeding practices influence skeletal and dental development in archaeological contexts. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Calgary, she is an affiliate of the Bone and Joint Institute. She teaches courses in biological anthropology and supervises graduate students interested in the chemical and physical analysis of human remains, and she is available for student mentorship.
