Assistant Professor Jessica Sontrop is a member of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University. Her research focuses on clinical epidemiology and the study of risk factors for chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular illness. She investigates the impact of environmental and lifestyle factors on long-term health outcomes and the efficacy of early screening programs. Her mission is to advance public health through the study of disease determinants and the implementation of evidence-based policy. Dr. Sontrop provides supervision for graduate students and is involved in teaching epidemiology. She utilizes large health datasets to identify patterns of disease and optimize care.
