Professor Robert H. E. Hudson, Department of Chemistry and Department of Biochemistry, Western University, works in bio-organic chemistry at the interface of synthesis and nucleic acid science. His research centers on organic synthesis, bio-organic chemistry, oligonucleotide analogs, peptide nucleic acid, and nucleobase-modified DNA and RNA, with a special interest in fluorescent analogs and molecular recognition. His mission is to build chemically precise tools that clarify nucleic acid behavior and enable new biological and biomedical applications. He supervises trainees in chemistry and also serves in asignificant leadership roles in the department.
