Distinguished University Professor Cheryl Forchuk serves in the School of Nursing at Western University. Her research integrates mental health, poverty and homelessness, and health technology to improve the lives of marginalized individuals. She focuses on the development of community-based interventions and transitional discharge models for psychiatric patients. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from Wayne State University, she is cross-appointed to the Department of Psychiatry. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and supervises graduate students in the Western Institute for Neuroscience, currently welcoming inquiries for research on social determinants of health.
