Professor Thomas Sigut conducts research in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Western University. His scholarly work emphasizes stellar atmospheres, radiative transfer, and computational astrophysics, particularly the modeling of gas disks around massive stars. He investigates the physical mechanisms that drive mass loss and circumstellar disk formation in Be stars. Having earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Toronto, he is a member of the Institute for Earth and Space Exploration. He teaches courses in stellar physics and supervises graduate students exploring theoretical astronomy, and he is currently available for academic mentorship.
