Assistant Professor Jamie William Johnston, Department of English and Writing Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Western University, researches professional and healthcare writing, engineering communication, rhetorical genre theory, rhetorical history of technology, and writing studies pedagogy. His research mission is to show how rhetorical theory and genre shape communication in professional, technical, and health contexts, with practical implications for teaching writing across disciplines. Johnston also teaches and leads Writing Studies as Undergraduate Program Director, helping students develop advanced communication skills grounded in research. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Western University.
