Professor Sanjay Mehta, Department of Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, is a clinician scientist whose research focuses on pulmonary hypertension, sepsis, acute lung injury, pulmonary microvascular endothelial cell injury, and pulmonary physiology. Western University materials describe projects on septic endothelial injury and apoptosis, clinical and physiologic correlates in pulmonary arterial hypertension, and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. His research mission is to connect mechanism-based respiratory science with better prediction, monitoring, and treatment of serious pulmonary vascular disease. He also directs the Southwestern Ontario Pulmonary Hypertension Program and has been recognized with Western University mentorship and research awards.
