I am a Public Historian interested in historical and contemporary issues surrounding museums and material culture, repatriation/rematriation, social memory and commemoration, cultural identity and issues of representation, usually in regards to Indigenous peoples. I am currently researching the relationship between southwestern Ontario Indigenous communities and cities in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries including the collecting of Indigenous heritage. 

I am the director of Hear, Here London, a SSHRC-funded audio documentary project that externalizes oral histories to the street. As of 2021, I am collaborating with the Vision SoHo Alliance and the City of London to curate interactive historical signage for its block of affordable housing (including adaptive reuse of heritage buildings), applying concepts of heritage to health and wellbeing.

The National Council on Public History's Code of Ethics requires public historians to be advocates. I am actively engaged in advocacy for built heritage, adaptive reuse, and preservation of museum and archives collections under threat.
