David Heap is an Associate Professor of French and Linguistics (affiliated with Women’s Studies and Feminist Research) at Western University and  a life-long peace and social justice activist. David Heap earned his Ph.D. in Romance Linguistics from the University of Toronto. He  is an expert on linguistics and dialect variation in French and Spanish, morphology, and on language and gender.
