BIO

Professor Steven Macdonald serves as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Western University. His research program integrates hip and knee replacement, joint arthroplasty, and clinical trials to improve the long-term success of prosthetic implants. He specifically focuses on the evaluation of new surgical technologies and the impact of implant materials on joint function. Having earned a Medical Degree from Western University and fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic, he is a core researcher in the Bone and Joint Institute. He supervises graduate students in musculoskeletal health and is currently available for academic mentorship.
