Research studies in professor Charles Rice's lab are directed at describing and understanding muscle contractile output (force or torque) in relation to neural activation and motor control of the muscle. He studies these aspects in humans at a systems level with an integrated approach using minimally invasive techniques such as various types of electromyography, muscle stimulation, ultrasound imaging and others.
