Professor Gregory M. Kelly, Department of Biology and cross-appointed to Physiology and Pharmacology, Western University, leads research in developmental biology, stem cells, cell signaling, cell polarity, and differentiation. His work examines how embryos and cells know what to do and when to do it, with emphasis on signaling across the plasma membrane and its effects on migration, proliferation, and developmental fate. His research mission is to explain how multicellular form emerges from cellular communication and developmental control.

He teaches advanced developmental and stem cell courses and in 2006, he was awarded the Edward G. Pleva Award for Excellence in Teaching at Western University, and was appointed to the Associated Graduate Faculty, Dept. Integrative Biology, University of Guelph. Dr. Kelly is also a member of the Molecular Genetics Unit in the Western Science Centre, an Associated Scientist of the Child Health Research Institute CHRI.
