BIO

Professor Servanne Woodward, Department of French Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Western University, works in the areas of critical theory, eighteenth-century literature, French stage and visual arts, African and francophone literature and cinema, and innovative pedagogies for literary study. Woodward earned a PhD in French from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, a Doctorate (3rd cycle) from Paris X, and she studied history of arts and art theory at the Université d’Aix-en-Provence. She has published on Chardin, Vigée-Lebrun, Marivaux, Rousseau, Diderot, and women educators.
