Professor Richard McCalden conducts research in the Department of Surgery at Western University. His work focuses on joint replacement, orthopedic outcomes, and hip and knee arthroplasty, particularly the management of complex primary and revision surgeries. He investigates the factors that influence the survival of implants and the prevention of post-operative complications. Holding a Medical Degree from the University of Toronto and specialized training, he is a researcher within the Bone and Joint Institute. He supervises graduate students in the field of clinical epidemiology and is available for doctoral student mentorship and collaborative research inquiries regarding musculoskeletal reconstruction.
