Professor David Hess conducts research in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Western University. His scholarly work focuses on stem cells, regenerative medicine, and vascular repair, particularly the use of human bone marrow-derived cells to treat diabetes and limb ischemia. He investigates the mechanisms by which progenitor cells promote the formation of new blood vessels in damaged tissues. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from Western University, he is a scientist at the Robarts Research Institute and a member of the Bone and Joint Institute. He supervises graduate students in molecular medicine and is currently available for doctoral student mentorship.
