Professor Debra Jared serves in the Department of Psychology at Western University. Her research program integrates psycholinguistics, bilingualism, and reading, focusing on how people recognize words and manage multiple languages. She specifically investigates the activation of phonological and semantic representations during reading in monolinguals and bilinguals. Having earned a Doctor of Philosophy from McGill University, she is a member of the Western Institute for Neuroscience. She provides expert supervision for graduate students exploring the cognitive processes underlying literacy and language use and is currently available for doctoral mentorship and research inquiries in the field of cognitive psychology.
