I have authored over 400 peer-reviewed articles, 22 book chapters, 65 monographs, and almost 400 published abstracts. I have presented over 1650, including 750 national and international, presentations and posters. I have been involved in over $35 million of grant funding. My research interests center largely around the implementation of best research evidence into clinical practice in Neurorehabilitation. I am the primary investigator and editor of the Stroke Rehabilitation Evidence-Based Review (www.ebrsr.com) now in its 20th edition, the Acquired Brain Injury Evidence-Based Review (www.abiebr.com), and the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Evidence-Based Review (www.scireproject.com) not in its 17th edition. All three of the evidence-based reviews have been used for the development of Best Practice Guidelines. My most recent project has been neurorehabilitation databases. The “5000 Stroke Rehab RCTs by 2024” which is a comprehensive database of all stroke rehab RCTs published in English up to the end of 2024 in a programable database. This has been complemented by a similar database for traumatic brain injury and we are beginning another database for spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Other research interests include the rehabilitation of severe and chronic strokes and the management of chronic pain disability.
