BIO
Professor Richard A. Secco, Department of Earth Sciences, Western University, leads research in mineral physics, materials science, high pressure, high temperature, and Earth interior processes. His work investigates how solids and liquids respond to pressure and temperature, linking laboratory measurements of physical properties to questions about minerals, planetary materials, and deep Earth behaviour. His research mission is to understand how extreme conditions alter matter so that geophysical and planetary processes can be interpreted more accurately. He is a primary faculty member in Western University’s Earth and Planetary Systems area and contributes to graduate supervision in mineral and materials physics.
