Dr. Tanis Quaife is a fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, peripheral nerve, and microsurgical reconstruction. She earned her Bachelor of Medical Sciences and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alberta, followed by completion of her Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at the University of Manitoba. She then completed a fellowship at the Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Clinic through the University of Western Ontario. To further expand her expertise, Dr. Quaife completed an observership in pediatric brachial plexus, hand, and reconstructive microsurgery at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

 

Dr. Quaife’s research interests focus on upper extremity reconstruction, peripheral nerve injury, microsurgical techniques, and complex wrist pathology. She is looking to create a central database for cataloging peripheral nerve injury and surgical outcomes to better advance the field.

 

As an Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Quaife maintains an active clinical practice at the Roth|McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre, where her elective practice encompasses all aspects of hand, wrist, and peripheral nerve surgery, as well as microsurgical soft tissue reconstruction. Alongside her clinical work, she is committed to surgical education and mentorship, contributing to resident teaching, anatomy sessions, and research supervision.
