Dr. Suller Marti is an adult epileptologist, clinician-researcher, and Associate Professor of Neurology at Western University, with cross-appointments in Psychiatry, Paediatrics, and Biomedical Engineering. She completed fellowship training in Clinical Epilepsy, Epilepsy Research, and Headache, and holds a PhD in Medicine focused on the use of neuromodulation devices in the treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy.

 

Her research program focuses on improving the understanding and treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy, with particular expertise in stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG), extraoperative cortical stimulation (ECS), neuromodulation, and epilepsy surgery. She is Co-Chair of the Western Epilepsy Research Group and has led numerous investigator-initiated studies and multidisciplinary collaborations involving clinicians, researchers, engineers, and trainees. She established Western’s SEEG Journal Club and contributes to national and international collaborative research initiatives, including the SEEG North American Consortium.

 

Dr. Suller Marti is actively involved in national and international leadership within the epilepsy community. She currently serves as Secretary of the Canadian League Against Epilepsy, Chair of the Spanish Symposium at the American Epilepsy Society, and North American Representative for YES-ILAE (2024).
