Assistant Professor Nicolas Bouisset serves within the Medical Biophysics unit at Western University. His research explores the intersection of vestibular neuroscience and pain modulation, specifically investigating how vestibular integration regions overlap with cortical substrates. He focuses on somatosensory integration and adaptive plasticity to prevent maladaptive reorganization in musculoskeletal disorders. Through neuroimaging and clinical evidence, he aims to understand the vestibular influence on body schema disruptions. His mission involves utilizing vestibular stimulation to recalibrate distorted body representations and alleviate chronic pain.
