Distinguished University Professor Marilyn Ford-Gilboe in the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at Western University, Faculty of Health Sciences, researches women’s health, health inequity, gender-based violence, trauma- and violence-informed care, and equity-oriented care. Her work develops and tests interventions that improve health and quality of life for women living with violence and other forms of inequity, including in rural settings. Her research mission is to strengthen health care responses through relational, strengths-based, community nursing approaches. She supervises graduate students, and a notable highlight is her fellowship in the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.
