Professor Kaiping Yang, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research in glucocorticoid metabolism, pregnancy, fetal development, intrauterine growth restriction, and placental function. Her work examines how endocrine and environmental factors shape fetal growth, obesity risk, and metabolic disorders, using animal models, cell culture, human tissues, molecular biology, proteomics, and functional genomics. Her research mission is to clarify how the prenatal environment programs lifelong health and disease. She holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham and supports research training at Western University.
