BIO

Olga Tararova (PhD, University of Toronto) is an Assistant Professor at Western University, where she teaches courses both at the graduate and undergraduate level. Her research interests include language teaching and methodology, bilingualism, second and third language acquisition, heritage languages, and language variation and change.

During her Masters and PhD, she worked with a heritage Italian community in Chipilo, Mexico, that has preserved their language for over 130 years. Her immersive work during her studies have allowed her to gain extensive knowledge regarding heritage languages, issues concerning language maintenance and loss, and grammar of heritage speakers.
